In partnership with the City of Akron and United Way of Summit and Medina Counties, Community Legal Aid is providing legal services to Akron tenants facing eviction, starting Sept. 15, 2025.
To qualify for the Right to Counsel program, a tenant must be
- an Akron resident
- at least seven days or more away from facing eviction
- at 100% of the poverty line and with children living in the home OR
- at 100% of the poverty line and 60 years or older with a disability.
If a tenant does not qualify for the program, Community Legal Aid will assist to the extent possible and will make referrals to partner organizations for supportive services.
