FREE Fair Housing Training Webinars Available!
Join Legal Aid attorneys to learn more about fair housing from the comfort of your own chair! Legal Aid will be hosting two FREE webinars this fall titled ‘Fair Housing Rights for Individuals with Disabilities’ and you’re invited to attend.
Thursday October 25 2012 from 1:15 until 2:30 pm
Thursday November 8 2012 from 1:15 until 2:30 pm
Each webinar will be hosted by a Legal Aid attorney and include practical information social workers and other advocates for the disabled need to know. The webinar will cover the basics of reasonable accommodation and reasonable modification requirements under the Fair Housing Act to give you the knowledge you need to assist clients with housing placement and maintenance and to advocate for reasonable accommodations for disabled clients.
It’s easy to participate. All you need are a computer with internet access and a microphone and speaker system (VoIP) OR a telephone to connect to the audio. That’s it, and Legal Aid staff will provide detailed instructions on how to join the meeting through GoTo Meeting before the event, and be available to troubleshoot the day of the training.

Overview of the fair housing laws (FHA, Section 504, ADA)
Overview of FHA coverage and exemptions
In depth review of reasonable accommodation under FHA, including:
Common reasonable accommodation issues in housing
Legal Aid in the Community
