Legal Aid invites community to learn about special projects

Community Legal Aid is extending an open invitation to the community to learn about some new exciting projects it has launched.

The purpose of the event is to invite community members into the organization and dialogue about its mission and vision with staff and leaders. This is an opportunity for the community and Legal Aid to engage in two way communication, sharing needs and insights.

“Last year’s event was the perfect opportunity to connect with other people and groups with the same mission,” explained Board President Nancy Grim. “We’re all in this together, and it’s great to stay connected and see what issues others are seeing in the community we serve.”

This will be Legal Aid’s second annual Open House. Leadership is hoping to bring in its volunteers, local private attorneys, judges and other court employees, and staff from other community organizations and local foundations.

“Legal Aid has worked hard over the past year to rebuild and strengthen our connections with the community,” shared Steve McGarrity, Executive Director of Community Legal Aid. “This Open House is an extension of our work, by pressing pause to check in with community leaders, colleagues and partner organizations.”

The event will provide free wine, beer, and hors d’ouerves for all those in attendance. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from McGarrity about Legal Aid’s new strategic direction.
