Attorney Training: Obtaining a Court Interpreter in Legal Proceedings
Speaker: Bruno G. Romero is the Program Manager of the Language Services Program at the Supereme Court of Ohio. Mr. Romero is responsible for training and certification of court interpreters. He also works in the area of policy and resource development. Mr. Romero will discuss the legal basis for using an interpreter as well as the resources available from his office in the Supreme Court.
This training will cover a brief overview of the role of the interpreter in communication and legal sources that guide the use of court interpreters in legal proceedings. This training will also discuss the challenges that advocates face regarding the use of interpreters.
