Veterans Clinic - Special Tax Clinic (Akron)

Overview

Community Legal Aid is offering free legal clinics for veterans and their families. This special session offers free assistance with certain federal income tax issues, including:

  • Levies
  • Tax collections
  • Filing requirements
  • Refunds
  • Identify theft

Local taxpayer advocate Susan Morgenstern and her team may be able to offer immediate tax information and assistance.

In the afternoon, we wll host a general veterans legal clinic, where you can get help with issues such as:

  • Housing or foreclosures

  • Family law

  • Debt collection

  • Bankruptcy

  • Taxes

  • Veterans benefits

  • Record sealing

  • Immigration

  • Wills

  • Powers of attorney

These clinics serve veterans in Summit, Stark, Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Wayne, and Medina counties.

Please bring a copy of your DD-214 or VA ID. Those attending will be asked to provide information about income and family structure in order to establish eligibility.
