Legal Aid's Kim Adams Selected to VA Research Committee

Kim Adams, J.D. of Community Legal Aid, has been selected to serve as a member of the Department of Veterans Affairs Research Advisory Committee on Gulf War Illnesses through September 2018.  The goal of the national research committee is to "assist VA in sustaining a national research program to assess the overall effectiveness of research supporting high-priority health care needs" in order to "ultimately improve the health of ill Gulf War Veterans."

Ms. Adams, herself a veteran of the United States Air Force, joined Legal Aid in 2013 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow, having earned her J.D. from Wayne State University in 2013 after a career in healthcare as a Respiratory Therapist.  In her time with Legal Aid, Adams has been an integral member of the Veterans Legal Team and has focused on efforts to bring together veterans, attorneys, health care and social services providers, and the larger community to identify and address the civil legal needs of veterans and their families.  We congratulate Ms. Adams on this honor!
