Volunteer Opportunities for Law Students
Jerome L. Holub Bankruptcy Program
Help struggling families gain a fresh financial start through a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Created through a partnership with the University of Akron, the Akron Bar Association, and the VLSP at Legal Aid, this program is an excellent opportunity to get hands on experience in consumer law. Students develop professional skills as they interview clients, conduct research, assist in document collection, and observe a 341 hearing.
Use your passion for justice to help clients facing civil legal matters. Summer interns assist staff attorneys and legal teams. This is a minimum 10 week program aimed at exposing students to a variety of subject matter and experiences. Interns have the opportunity to further their professional development by attending free CLE classes. A"brown-bag" lunch series introduces interns to a number of legal professionals, helping establish a local network of support.
Applications for the 2017 Summer Intern Program are now being accepted.
Internships for Non-Legal Students
Periodically, Community Legal Aid offers unpaid internships for students in programs outside of law school. These could include communications and marketing, finance and business, or administrative and non-profit management. Current openings are listed below.
