VLSP Attorney
The VLSP Attorney will improve access to justice both through expansion of private attorney involvement efforts (recruitment, retention, and recognition of private attorneys), assisting in the provision of high-quality pro bono legal service, and aggressive development of innovative programs providing high quality legal assistance to clients who would otherwise remain un-represented.
VLSP Paralegal
Legal Aid is hiring a Paralegal for its HelpLine Project. This person will be clients’ first point of contact with Legal Aid. They will interview applicants to determine eligibility. The successful candidate will be a compassionate customer service professional, savvy with technology, detail oriented, and able to work under pressure. HelpLine Paralegals work in a high-volume call center environment, frequently speaking with clients in distress. They work extensively on the telephone and computer and process referrals from other organizations. HelpLine Paralegals also work in a rotation to cover Legal Aid’s receptionist duties, including answering phones, assisting walk-ins, and processing incoming and outgoing mail.
Paralegal 1 (Warren office)
The Paralegal I will, under the supervision of the Managing Attorney, assist in the provision of comprehensive, high quality legal services to eligible clients in civil cases in accordance with organizational policies and the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct. The Paralegal I will be called upon to provide support in a wide variety of civil cases and perform other duties as required.
