Legal Aid at: Family Matters Resource Center

Free and open to the public - Tuesdays 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 425 E. Market St., Alliance

Overview:

Advocates on our Neighborhood Law Project (NLP) will be onsite at the Family Matters Resource Center to meet with resident to hear their thoughts on the types of legal services needed to strengthen community investment, including, but not limited to:

  • Assistance with small business and nonprofit start-ups
  • Addressing court debt and/or barriers to employment
  • Forming tenant unions to improve living conditions
  • Other civil legal issues

The NLP Project works to promote economic development in historically disadvantaged neighborhoods by providing legal advocacy, expertise, and support to strengthen grassroots efforts in expanding social justice and racial equity. Project staff aims to empower disinvested communities and build coalitions for positive social change.
