Offenses that can't be sealed

When requesting that your record be sealed, you will need to list all criminal cases filed against you. To be sure, complete a full background check at www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/backgroundcheck.

Some types of offenses cannot be sealed even if you meet other requirements. These include crimes that carry a mandatory prison sentence, crimes of violence, traffic offenses, and crimes where the victim was a minor under 16 years of age.

 

The crimes listed here cannot be sealed. This list includes the reference number to the Ohio Revised Code, so you can look up the law.

 

Non-sealable if a felony conviction
