Community Legal Aid's Break the Silence is a one-day conference focused on serving vulnerable populations who are experiencing intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking.


Break the Silence 2022:


Plenary Session One - Trauma Bonding: An Exploration into the Dynamics that Bond Victims to Abusers

Speaker - Ashley Kline, Direct of Crisis and Clinical Services, Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties


Plenary Session Two - Providing Culturally Specific Services for Immigrant and Refugee Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence and Human Trafficking Survivors Break Out Session 

Speakers - Samantha Salamon, Ahimsa Manager, ASIA, Inc., Amanda Smith, Advocate Supervisor, ASIA, Inc., Monicah Yonghang, Bilingual Advocate, ASIA, Inc.

Attend this year's conference in-person ($25.00) or online (free). Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. Location: Kent Conference Center, 215 S. Depeyster St., Kent

In-person guests will be expected to adhere to prescribed safety protocols in light of the pandemic. This may include masking regardless of vaccination status. Refunds will be provided in the event that in-person gatherings are suspended.
