The Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) seeks to engage volunteer attorneys in pro bono and reduced fee work through a variety of programs. Please consider becoming a volunteer.  We have opportunities for lawyers, law firms, law students, paralegal students and other community members.

With the help of our dedicated volunteers, we have been able to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.  In 2011 alone, volunteer attorneys closed over 2,500 cases.

Need CLE?

Attorneys who agree to accept a minimum of one pro bono case or volunteer at a clinic are eligible to attend our FREE CLE's! CLE offered by Legal Aid cover a range of topics that will be useful to you both as a volunteer and in private practice.You don't need to be a current volunteer - you can fill out a volunteer application at the CLE.

Volunteer Spotlight

Attorney Denise Ferguson:

Denise Ferguson is a sole practitioner and concentrates on domestic relations law. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Akron School of Law and is a member of the Akron and Ohio State Bar Associations, the 2012 Class of the OSBA Leadership Academy,and the Scanlon Inn of Court. 

Denise volunteers primarily through the reduced fee divorce program, but doesn't hesitate to assist with various areas of law when needed.  Denise is knowledgeable and dedicated to each and every client.  We appreciate all of her hard work!
